• Glyph: The Glyph for the Moon is representative of how the Moon looks while in the Crescent, or last quarter, Phase. This is one of the few straightforward Glyphs in Astrology, as it is a simplistic image of what the ancient people saw in the sky, and what we, today, still see.

Most views relate the Moon in one's Natal Chart to -among other things- the relationship with one's mother.
The sign and house the Moon is placed in will represent how we, subjectively see our mother. I make emphasis on the fact that it is subjective, because we all know a mother could have 12 different children with 12 different Moon signs, which would lead to believe the Moon's perception depends completely on the son or daughter, and tells you nothing actually factual about the mother, more than the feeling or opinion the child has formed about her.
But, is this the case? My brother and I have 2 year age difference and we have different Sun signs, however, we both have the same Moon in Gemini, on the same degree, and consequently we both have Pluto opposing our Moon.
Does this mean the Moon sign tells you an actual fact about the mother or is it really only subjective perceptions, that are in these kind of cases shared by both siblings?
Opinions?

I think that in some cases (such as yours) you both are, in fact, viewing the mother in the same light. However, I know that I have my Moon in the 12th house and they say that the mother could have been hospitalized/institutionalized in the childhood, and that has happened to me! So I think that in certain positions, it may be how she shows herself to you? Not always simply how you perceive her? Especially if multiple siblings have the same positions. I know my brothers and I have some of the same Moon aspects, and we're years apart. Anyone else have any experiences like this? This is fairly interesting. : )

My moon is in the 8th house in conjunction to mars, the ruler of the 4th house in my chart and my mother is definitely the head of the family, she wears the pants in the marriage haha she sits at the head of the dinner table that says it all its literally a symbol for the underlying mars influence.. my mother has an aries moon as well!

Do you think you can base compatibility between a mother and child based on their respective Moon signs? Since it has to do with the mothering style and also how we like to be nurtured?

Well, I'm a Scorpio Sun with Capricorn Moon, and my mom is a Leo Sun with Gemini Moon. Although we get along well together, I don't feel the real mother-child bond with her. Mostly because her "young and free" personality makes me really stressed as I'm a Cappy moon and rising, which makes me a mature person and surely I'd want my mother to be mature too and as a Gemini moon/Leo sun, she is not mature at all. BUT, I have 1 sister and 1 brother, both with Capricorn moon too but they don't seem to think the same as me. On the contrary, my sister which is Cancer Sun, Cappy Moon and Libra Ascendant, she is exactly like my mom and she has no problem with my mom being irresponsible. I wonder if it's because she has Libra Ascendant and lots of air signs in her chart, just like my mom? I have only 1 Aquarius in my chart, other than that, I have no air signs and only 2 fires, the rest is all Earth and Water which makes me more of a responsible person, the rest of my family is full of airs, so they want to have fun more than anything else. But my siblings all have Cappy moon and they don't seem to feel the same way I do about my mom, so, I suppose it has more to do with than just the child's moon.

My mom and I have the same moons as you and your mom! And I can relate so much to what you've said. I feel like she's not as reliable as a mother should be, cause SO many things have her attention and like she can't sit still or do a one-on-one conversation without getting distracted :/
