"Déjà vu, (/ˌdeɪʒɑː ˈvuː/) from French, literally "already seen", is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not." (from Wikipedia)
I've always found déjà vu to be incredibly fascinating. Honestly I just love phenomenons that everyone experiences, and nobody can explain, not even... science.
Usually when I experience it, after I first get the "this has happened before" feeling, I also have the vague feeling like I know what's about to happen, and I keep thinking to myself "I knew that was going to happen" for a while... like up to a minute, maybe... before it's over. Usually everything is happening so fast that I never really make lucid predictions of things before they actually happen, so even though I think to myself that I knew what was going to happen before it happened, I didn't consciously predict it.
I remember one time I actually did have a legit premonition while having déjà vu. Of course it was about something totally useless, but it was still cool. I was in chemistry, and we were taking a test, but most people were already done. Our teacher interrupted us for a moment to talk about what we were going to do when we were done taking the test. While she was talking I had déjà vu, and when she was done talking, I had the strongest feeling like she hadn't meant any of what she said and was going to change her mind later and say we weren't actually going to do anything the rest of class. And then sure enough, a couple minutes later, she said, "Actually, I changed my mind. You guys can just chill for the rest of class." So that was cool.
So what experiences have you guys had with déjà vu?
