i grew up in a very conservative southern baptist enviroment (church and school), but have thrown out everything i once believed for a more open minded approach. i guess you could just say i believe in love! love=god=you=god=love i identify with words like love and light and the darkness. i still use the word god because it's easier. i like to pray, but it's more to the universe than 'god'. i do think demons/angels exist. also multiple dimensions. (dreams!?!?) my super sag friend has really helped my spirituality grow! anyway, do you guys have any certain beliefs? do you think there are any beliefs associated with astrology? what do you guys think the whole new age thing? personally, i have always been weary of many new age things. sometimes i just feel like like a lot of it is bull shit. i do use crystals, tarot, and sage and am obviously into astrology! things like magic worry me though! i feel like 'opening' yourself in a way that let's your spirit leave your body could dangerous because of things could attach to you. which is why i've never been to a physic or had one read my cards! i feel like it's very easy to have bad things attach to you if that part of you is really, really open. here is a site my sag sent me! a lot of info in healing n such and he touches on the things i spoke about!

@lailanights17 wow yes! you know, i feel like there are a lot of people out there who have spiritually abused by the church and we just never hear about it!
what would you consider as metaphysics? is it a lot of new age-y stuff? i'm sorry i don't know how else to describe it. i think i kind of know what you're leading onto, but i just want to be clear! i think it's very hard to describe what you believe when you don't particularly abide by a certain religion.
i've read the wiki on indigo children and i feel like it's very hard to decided whether or not a child is or not. i guess if they are obviously talented in the arts or math or something, but also, if any child is trained in something from the time their 3- yeah they are prolly going to be awesome! i think disabilities can enhance certain things in people, but i agree it doesn't make someone an indigo child. i think maybe many of these kids are the ones growing up w parents who are very open minded and encourage their children to always use their imagination and creativity and as they grow since they don't feel the normal standards being put around them they feel free to grow in a lot of areas many kids didn't get the chance to. (i hope i'm making sense)
have you ever had an experience with something other worldly?

@lailanights17
i personally view most of the things you mentioned as new age! i think maybe it's one of those things that kind of is an umbrella term for a bunch of subjects that require belief in "Other". i googled it and it said,
"a broad movement characterized by alternative approaches to traditional Western culture, with an interest in spirituality, mysticism, holism, and environmentalism."
that sounds about right! i think once you become interested in this whole world you realize a lot of this stuff has been taken from multiple religions and many ancient myths and rituals. it's pretty clear to me that there is no right or wrong way to "be" "new age". it's a weird thing to be apart if because personal beliefs and opinions influence a persons interaction with it a great deal.
on the indigo and star children:
i agree! like i said, i think having a disability can enhance certain talents and things in someone, but it definitely isn't a defining characteristic in being an indigo or star child. i think to be considered one of these types, the intuition will be very in tact! there is no doubt medications are helpful and necessary, but i do believe they close off certain parts of yourself. i think the reason so many mental illnesses exist is because of the idea that everyone learns the same way and has the same strengths and weaknesses. i love that einstein quote about judging a fish on it's ability to climb a tree. i think that's what happens.
i am definitely against american government and pretty much believe they are trying to control and kills us and i think so many people, especially children, being on prescribed meds is a factor in that plan. flouride is in toothpaste and the water supply and it is believed that fluoride calcifies the pineal gland, which according to the egyptians is the third eye. no coincidence! i think they do not want any type of radicals to exist, nothing to challenge what the norms are. they want Nice, Christian, Brainwashed, Conservative Zombies trained to kill through violent video games and television. lol, what do do you think? where do you live, btw?
no i do not! i am actually a little scared of an experience like that! i'm very worried about having some sort of spiritual darkness attaching onto me. i'm currently having a bit of a time with my depression and i wonder if maybe something negative has already attached onto me. considering my childhood in the church, i wouldn't be surprised.
i don't think contact with spirit is inherently dark or wrong, but i'm not sure if any real protection exists if you open yourself up to that realm. i'm open to a spirit contacting me if it is somehow their will in the afterlife to tell me something??
